Coinciding with Peacock's highly anticipated three-part streaming event which begins streaming September 22, 2023, The Continental is opening its hallowed doors in New York City for a limited time, offering fans of the series (as well as vibe curators and cocktail connoisseurs) the opportunity to indulge in the world of John Wick and the mysteries of The Continental.
Located at the intersection of two narrow streets in downtown NYC, the real-life magic of 82 Beaver Street nearly matches that of The Continental of John Wick. Curiously sited on the acute corner of two crossing streets, 1 Wall Street Court (also known as the Beaver Building and the Cocoa Exchange) was built in 1904 and features a unique angled point of entry as the building expands outward along the diverging Pearl and Beaver streets- think the Flatiron Building at Madison Square Park. Now dwarfed by towering skyscrapers, 82 Beaver Street still has a charm and improbable curiosity that matches the mysterious tone of John Wick.
In real life, the entry of the building is a cultural destination in itself. As for John Wick, it’s the entry into the world’s most chic, sophisticated, and dangerously elite hotel in NYC, now being explored in The Continental: From the World of John Wick series.
Just as it is for John Wick, guests at Welcome to The Continental: The Hotel Bar Experience must follow strict rules and agree to be be sworn to secrecy. From the in-character bellhops to the bartenders and from backrooms to the viewpoints, the hotel bar experience is yours to enjoy, whether that means simply relaxing in the 1970s stylings of John Wick’s New York or uncovering a suspenseful plot set at the hotel with the help of characters and your fellow hotel guests.
dOING Business
“Business” is the term usually used regarding the profession in the John Wick franchise that involves killing another person. However, one of the strictest, and perhaps the only true rule of the Continental, is that no business can be conducted on Continental grounds.
